Praying for Him, as God’s Son,Changes Your View of Him
Praying for him, as God’s son, changes your view of your husband
Years ago, when we were going through a difficult season in our marriage, I remember crying out to God for relief. I asked God why we were still in this place of hardship. I couldn’t understand it. I had been going to church and praying, but in my mind, God wasn’t moving. Then one day, as I was crying out to God, I asked God why my marriage was still struggling, we were in year ten of the struggle. He said because you are trying to fix it. You are using your words to force change, but your heart is closed to change. He told me that my husband was His son before he was my husband. At that moment, my view changed. He’s God’s son, a flawed individual who deserves God’s grace. His walk was just as important as my walk.
Stop wrestling with your husband and God about your husband’s journey. There’s power in praying for him, and guess what? The change will happen. After God showed me my behavior, my husband accepted Jesus as his Savior in our living room two years later. I’m telling you, see your husband as God’s son and watch God transform his heart.
Pray this prayer:
Father, give me grace in this season. Help me see my husband through your eyes. Fill his soul with what he needs. Heal any scars or brokenness that’s created noise where he can’t hear you. Infuse his character with confidence and the ability to make the right decisions. Teach me to lean and depend on you as you work on his heart, in Jesus’ name.
“The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” He Himself will deliver you from the hunter’s net, from the destructive plague. He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.”
