Running the Race of Life for Such a Time As This-Day 4

Jesus is coming you know. He is risen and will come for us one at a time or all at one time; but He is surely coming again. It will be different the next time. We first saw Him born in a humble manger and entering Jerusalem on a donkey. He didn’t resist the evil men who tortured Him and hung him on a cross.

When He comes again, He will come as the victorious King of Kings and Lord of Lords astride a beautiful white horse to fight the final battle of Armageddon (Revelation 19). Finally, He will call all Christ followers living and the dead to His wedding feast.

We are living our lives in the “between time,” running our race here. We don’t know when He will return or how it will happen for us individually, but we do know as His followers that it will happen. And when it does, whether individually or as the Body, what will He find us doing? Simply put, will we be living for the world and chasing its values or living for Him? What values will our lives be portraying?

In this time of shaking, the world desperately needs to see Jesus with skin on, that’s us. Containers of the living God living our lives in a way that is as much in contrast to the world as was Jesus’ when he came and lived among us (John 17:18-23) (Matt 5:16). He is the Light of the world. The darkness is gathering, let Him Shine!

““Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.”
