Running the Race of Life for Such a Time As This-Day 2

So the world accuses us of hypocrisy and says we want the same things they want and to do the same things they do. Where do they get that idea? What do they see that causes them to speak that way? There must be some things that are common enough that, in their opinion, make them credible to them. Could they be watching our most successful and high profile models of Christianity, let’s say superstar megachurch pastors and entertainers and how they live? Or watching our music videos and listening to our music and are unable to differentiate between theirs and ours? Have they done business deals with us where money was a stumbling block or were they treated in a way that showed the love of money rather than the love of God drives us? Do they live near us as neighbors but never hear us speak of our Savior and thus judge that He isn’t important enough to us to mention to them and if there really is a hell that we are indifferent towards their going there? Do we seek after worldly riches with the same passion that they do and then spend them on the same pleasures and luxuries as they do with perhaps with no discernible difference?

Are we living as rich fools in a world that is starving for both physical and spiritual food? What are your thoughts? What do they see versus what should they see? And what are you doing to let His Light shine into the darkness of the world?

“Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive. And he began reasoning to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’ So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:15-21‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
