Put on Waders-Day 7

Day 7: Put on Waders

KEY TAKEAWAY: If you want to see God move, make a move.

“And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!””

1. Read MATTHEW 14:25-33. What does the story tell you about stepping out in faith first to witness God move?

2. How have you seen God move in your life when you were willing to step out of faith?

3. What small step of faith do you feel God is calling you to take today?

They went fourth and preached everywhere, the Lord...Confirming the word with signs following. Mark 16:20 KJV

When the Israelites began to enter the promised land, God commanded the priests to step into the Jordan River before he parted the water. It is counterintuitive, but God is honored when we act as if He is going to answer our prayers. And acting as if means acting on our prayers. After hitting our knees, we need to take a small step of faith. And those small steps of faith often turn into giant leaps. If it seems like God isn’t moving in our lives, maybe it’s because we aren’t moving.

Journal about how your prayer life is mirrored in your daily life. Is there a step of faith that you are being called to take?
