God's Faithfulness

We live in uncertain times. Ironically, uncertainty sometimes seems to be the only certain experience we have. For the past year we have struggled to navigate our world through the COVID-19 Pandemic. The way we work, worship, and play have dramatically changed our way of living. Our new normal has become wearing a face covering, or two, staying at least six feet away from our friends and co-workers, not shaking the hands of the ones we respect nor hugging the necks of our loved ones, and avoiding large gatherings at all cost. Some of us have become online shopping experts rewarded with free, contactless pickup with the added bonus of not having to enter the doors of our local Walmart. We have developed a taste for good 'ole home cooked meals, and others have grown to appreciate and love staying home. On the other hand, small businesses have had to close their doors and people have lost jobs and their livelihood. Our economy has suffered tremendously. Our healthcare systems are understaffed and overwhelmed. Americans have conflicting opinions and there is division within our United States. All of these current events, and many more, are teaching us there is always an abundance of uncertainty. When we dwell on the worst-case scenario outcomes, these uncertainties can rock our faith to the core.

As believers, how do we deal the uncertain times that seem to plague the world we live in?

Remember God's Faithfulness
  • He protects all of His people while at the same time He is fulfilling His promises through His people, much like in Exodus 14. God was with Moses and the Israelites as He led them out of Egypt and through the Red Sea. God created us on purpose and for His purpose. God always takes care of His people.

Reflect on God's Faithfulness
  • In the middle of our problems, brokenness, sin and suffering, it is sometimes difficult to see that God is making a way for us. Remember that by faith, He will deliver us from our trials and tribulations and will take care of our every need.
"And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."  Romans 8:27-28

Pray for Faithfulness
  • God's faithfulness is unending. His promises cannot fail to be fulfilled. God hears us and answers our prayers. Even though He doesn’t always give us what we want, He gives us exactly what we need. When we pray to God, we are building our trust and faith in Him. To be certain of God, means that we are uncertain in all of our own ways, not knowing what tomorrow will bring. God keeps His promises to us, no matter what!

God wants to show us He is able to provide our every need. He wants us to trust Him as He reveals to us, He is in control of every uncertainty the world throws our way. Uncertainty IS NOT the only thing that is certain. God's love and faithfulness is certain if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, trust in Him in all things, and hold tight to His promises.

Isaiah 23:3-4
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal."
