God's Personal Christmas Gift to You
Christmas is a time for giving gifts … and receiving gifts. Think about that Christmas gift you received. What did you do to get it? You did not earn it. You did not necessarily deserve it. All you had to do on Christmas morning to make it yours was to unwrap it and receive it. After all, it was freely given by someone who loves you.
The Bible says the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). Heaven! It cannot be earned. It cannot be bought. It is undeserved. It is God's gift to you form Someone who loves you very much. All you have to do to make it your won is receive it by faith.
The message of Christmas is not confined to December and does not end in the cradle. It continues to the cross, where Christ took your sin in His own body and paid your sin debt in full. He was buried and rose again the third day. But this is not all. After the cradle and the cross comes the crown. He is coming back, no longer as a suffering servant but as King of kings and Lord of lords.
