Fellowship

Matthew 18:20
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

As Christians we are part of a huge family, and like all families we need to spend time together. God gave us fellowship so that we could strengthen our relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Anyone who attends church on a regular basis can tell you that when they miss a Sunday their whole week seems to be off, like something is missing. Fellowship strengthens not only our relationship with our Christian family but also reinforces our relationship with Christ. This helps our witness when we go out in the world. A room filled with believers raising their voices and arms to the ceiling in real worship is beautiful!! The spirit comes in and moves all around that room.

Don't limit the church to four walls and some pews. The Church is made of the people who fill those pews. Fellowship can happen anywhere at any time. People have had church in aisle 3 of the grocery store. (Can you imagine the looks they received? More importantly the hearts they may have touched?)

In Acts 16:25-34 we find an example of what fellowship can do. Paul and Silas were in prison of all places and began to pray and sing. Then God sent an earthquake that opened their bars and let loose their chains. The poor prison keeper knew he was done for, but yet when he saw they were still there and realized what faith could do, his heart was changed and he was saved.
When two or more are gathered in His name amazing things can happen. Find fellowship, true fellowship, with other believers. It can change your life.

Have a blessed day,
Renee Houston
