Understanding the Message of Christ: The Three-Person God
God cannot fit in your box. He is not easily explained. This reality is quickly revealed as one seeks to describe the natures of God. He is One but represents Himself through a triune relationship.
We see this One/Three Person God expressed in Scriptures...The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
(2 Corinthians 13:14)
There is only one divine nature of the Lord. God also is at the same time three distinct Persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. Each is fully and completely God and each has existed eternally with the same divine nature.
The best illustration I have heard on the trinity is the braiding of a young girls hair. A persons hair is fully and solely their hair. When the hair is separated into three braids each continue to posses the same nature and character but they are woven together in a different direction to form the completed braid. The finished word is the same but also different.
I hope this topic is a little hard to understand. It is good for us to recognize at that God is bigger than us. Although He has taken the effort to reveal and explain Himself, there is still so much we do not understand. Praise the complexity of God. He does not fit in our box. We fit into His.
