Worship

What activity defines the primary purpose of God’s Church?

We do a lot of stuff.  Bible study, prayer, service, fellowship, outreach, and other aspects of submission are weekly expressions of our life with God.  I am so excited that Project 413 is beginning.  The early closure of school in the spring hurt my soul.  I have spent months missing the flood of young feet calmly walking through the halls of the church building.

Honestly, this ministry takes a lot of labor.  Our leaders and teachers spend hours each week preparing for class.  Financially we give to supply materials, literature, and meals to this ministry.  After a hard days work it is often difficult to be at your best for two hours.

Why do it?  Wednesday night service is an act of worship.  Giving our lives in this ministry puts the focus on the glory and honor and power of our Savior.

The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse at the purpose of heaven.  All of God’s creation gather around the throne, saying Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created (Revelation 4:11).

Your purpose in life is to worship.  Take a moment to stop your busy schedule and make a list of the different names, character traits, and actions that describe and bring honor to your Lord.  Use this list to express praise to God.
