Bible Study
I have enjoyed a little parental satisfaction as my daughter has grown up and left our home. Parents have a few years to teach and guide their children. Your kids are a captive audience during these years. As adults your words become suggestions and not law.
There is a temptation to view God’s Bible in the same manner. Our society is based on moral decisions. The real test for each person is on whose authority do we construct our values and standards.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Scripture is the only stand of life because it comes from the giving of life. God’s Word is truth and the guide for faith, morality, values, and actions. Our lives should be driven by what we discover in the Bible.
Our daily time of study is not to simply read a verse but to understand the mind and will of God through those inspired words. Observe it. What does the passage say? Discover the who, what, when, where, how, and why. Interpret it. What does it mean? Apply it.
God’s Word is not an option. It is the only path to real life and authentic good works. Absorb it daily.
