Blessing from God

Can we ever out give the Lord?  The answer is of course no!

There are many biblical examples to this truth.  One that is often over looked occurs in
1 Kings 3.  God has given Solomon the awesome task of building the temple, but the work has not started yet.  One night Solomon was talking to God and praising Him for being so good to his father David and to himself.   At the end of this conversation, God told Solomon that he could have anything he wanted.
Being human, Solomon could have asked for fame, wealth, health, wine, women, or song.  Solomon asked for wisdom.  Particularly, wisdom to guide God’s chosen people, the Israelites.  This was a very commendable request.  God granted it with abundance.

Have you even wondered what Solomon had been doing that day? This prayer was at the night, in a dream.  So what would be worthy of anyone getting that offer from God?
That day the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place; Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar (1 Kings 3:4).

Solomon did not just give ten percent.  He offered 1000’s bulls in royal worship.  The young king wanted to please God and gave an abundant.

This offering did not compare to the gift delivered by God.  The Bible says Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.  For he was wiser than all men, …and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations (1 Kings 4:30-31).

God’s blessing will far exceed what we can image.
